The International Factoring Association (IFA) Canada Chapter was created in 2007 as a non-profit organization. The aim of the Chapter is to forge an open forum for factoring companies and professionals in the industry. The main goal of the association is to invite members to participate and disseminate information related to common issues pertaining to the factoring industry in Canada.
As a very active Chapter of the International Factoring Association in the United States, the Canadian Chapter obeys the same Code of Ethics as the IFA. Factoring professionals may become members in addition to the IFA's membership.
Monthly luncheon meetings are scheduled in advance, where the members have the opportunity to partake in discussions on relevant current topics.
IFA Canada's goal is to educate and extend the existing network of professionals. Speakers are invited on the ongoing basis to present perspectives and qualified opinions on topics ranging from dealing with transportation underwriting to perfecting Personal Property Security Act (PPSA) registrations. Members constantly propose ways of educating the Chapter as well of ways of closing the gap amongst competitors.
